Commerce West Insurance Company was founded in California in 1948, initially offering Personal Lines Automobile insurance. In 1999, we introduced our monoline Commercial Automobile product and in 2007 we began offering Homeowners policies in California. Currently, we offer Private Passenger Automobile Plans, both Preferred and Non-Standard, as well as a monoline Commercial Automobile Plan and California Homeowners policies. Additionally, several of our products feature multiple tiers - designed to attract a broader group of policyholders. Our products are offered exclusively through Independent Agents throughout California, Oregon and Arizona.

California Personal Auto

Commerce West offers three Personal Auto Programs in California:

Select Auto Program - Preferred:
- Proposition 103 Good Drivers acceptable only. Exception: Resident family member, full-time student, no violations or accidents and one parent insured with Commerce West.
- Liability limits up to $250/$500,000
- Variety of discounts
- No business use
- Can assign driver to vehicle most used
- EFT and various pay plans available
Protection Auto Program - Non-Standard:
- Non-Good drivers with up to 10 Commerce West points eligible.
- Household members meeting licensing age must be listed or excluded.
- Liability limits up to $100/$300/$50,000 limits. $30/$60,000 UMBI limits.
- Variety of discounts
- EFT and various pay plans available
- Non-owner coverage
- No business use
- Permissive user only drop-down
Nation Safe Driver Auto Program – Non-Standard
- Underwriting Guidelines in this program are identical to Protection Program above.
- Includes membership in Nation Safe Driver Travel Program – no cost to insured
- Discounted program with three pay plans

- Fleets (5 or more vehicles) require prior approval
- Limits from $15/$30/$10 to $1,000,000 CSL
